About

Deeply curious about most things...
I’m fascinated by what it means to be human.
I’m Noreen Angela Macdonald — writer,
Integrative Hypnotherapist, Holistic practitioner, lifelong question-asker and someone who has spent more than 30 years exploring why we humans think, feel, behave, cope, heal and change the way we do.
I’m interested in the whole messy thing.
The mind. The body. The nervous system. Our habits and coping mechanisms. The stories we tell ourselves. The ways we lose ourselves trying to belong, be good, stay safe or keep everyone else happy — and what happens when we start finding our way back.

My Story
From a young age, I think I was asking the big questions.
My first poem, at nine, was about love. My second, at eleven, was about death.
Looking back, I realise I've been curious about this strange experience of being human for a very long time.
I've always been willing to follow where that curiosity takes me — through health, healing, spirituality, psychology, philosophy, personal growth and plenty of questioning along the way.
For much of my early life, I struggled with ongoing health issues, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and a constant feeling that something wasn’t quite right beneath the surface.
At 16, I was introduced to natural medicine, and it changed the direction of my life. What began as a journey to improve my physical health soon became a much deeper curiosity about the connection between the body, mind, emotions, and subconscious patterns.
Over the decades, that curiosity has taken me through natural medicine, holistic health, yoga, hypnotherapy, coaching, Bioresonance, nervous system work, spirituality and many different approaches to understanding ourselves.
But my work today isn't shaped by professional training alone. It's also shaped by being human myself.
I've known what it is to struggle with my health, anxiety and overwhelm. To get caught in patterns I knew weren't good for me. To override myself. To search for answers. To try very hard to get life “right”.
And perhaps one of the biggest things I've learned is that healing isn't necessarily about becoming a better version of ourselves.
Sometimes it's about stripping away everything we've learned we should be, getting curious about what is actually ours — and finding our way back to who we were underneath it all.
That's the thread running through much of what I create and share now.
I work with clients online worldwide.
What I've learned along the way
After more than 30 years of exploring, learning, working with people — and living my own beautifully imperfect human life — there are a few things I keep coming back to.
We make a lot more sense when we get curious instead of judging ourselves.
The things we do — even the things we wish we didn't do — usually have a reason. Our patterns, habits and coping mechanisms often began as ways to protect ourselves, feel safe, belong, cope or get through something.
Our bodies and nervous systems matter.
We can't always think our way into feeling better. Sometimes the body needs to feel safe before the mind can see things differently.
Honesty changes things.
Not brutal honesty. Not judging ourselves or pulling ourselves apart. Just the willingness to notice what is actually true for us, underneath all the shoulds.
We have more choice than we sometimes realise.
We can't control everything that happens to us, but awareness creates a little bit of space between what happens and what we do next. And sometimes that tiny bit of space changes everything.
I don't think healing is about becoming someone new.
I think much of it is about remembering who you are underneath the conditioning, expectations, fear and ways you've learned to survive.
About returning home to yourself.
How my work has changed
For a long time, most of my work has happened one-to-one, in a room with another person.
But I've become increasingly curious about how I can help and connect with many more people, all over the world. That's one of the reasons I've decided to take my practice online.
I'm also deeply curious about the ideas and information that have been gathering inside me for years — and what might happen if I actually let them out.
I've always wanted to write a book, so I'm writing one. I love speaking and talking to interesting people, so I'm exploring podcasting. I'm creating an online retreat for busy women who can't necessarily afford the time or money to disappear off to a retreat somewhere. I'm creating free content, downloadable hypnotherapy and other ways for people to explore this work in their own time, wherever they happen to be.
Really, I'm in an experimental phase.
I'm allowing myself to create, follow what interests me and see where it leads.
After years of my work being centred around a clinic, it feels exciting to open the doors a little wider.

Being human is complicated.
Let's stay curious about it.
Curiosity. Honesty. Courageous Change.
